The Fairfield boys’ basketball team stayed with Mexia throughout most of their game Tuesday afternoon, but the visiting Blackcats held the Eagles to eight points in the third quarter and went on to a 66-56 victory in Fairfield.
The Eagles fell to 6-6 on the season while Mexia, playing for the first time in more than two weeks due to COVID-19 issues, improved to 3-1.
