August 5, 1943: On The Farm Front:
The prospects look good for a normal yield or better of cotton in Freestone County this fall. So far the damage to cotton by insects in the county as a whole has been exceptionally low due to the weather conditions; however, there is a possibility of a large percent of the crop being damaged by the cotton bollworm.
