Eagles split contests at Athens

The Fairfield Eagles’ varsity basketball squad competed in their first tournament over the weekend, splitting four contests at the Athens Tournament, going 2-2 and finishing fourth out of the stacked field. Beginning with a 42-37 victory over Liberty-Eylau on Thursday night, the Eagles woke up Friday ready to win some more. Friday morning’s contest was a 51-46 win over Cumberland Academy. Later…
