The Fairfield baseball team built a 4-0 lead and went on to defeat Mexia, 9-3, in the opening District 20-3A game at Blackcat Field in Mexia on Tuesday, March 7.
The Eagles scored single runs in each of first three innings and took a 4-0 lead with a tally in the top of the fifth.
