Schools throughout Fairfield Independent School District closed down for Friday, Dec. 20, extending the holiday break due to begin Dec. 23 for students and faculty.
Orginally scheduled as a half-day, the district decided to call off due to the high rate of sickness-related absences, with students feeling the effects of the flu and strep throat, among other ailments.
