Graveside services for E.J. (Bub) McAdams were held Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at Dew Cemetery with Bro. Steve Cowart officiating.

Visitation was held Dec. 1 with the family present at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Mr. McAdams passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27., at the Teague Nursing Home.

He was born at home in Dew on July 10, 1930. E.J. attended Dew schools before graduating from Teague High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for two years, much of which stationed in Germany. After his service, he went to work in Louisiana constructing pipelines. His work took him to many locations in numerous states. Mr. McAdams also worked for Fred Owens Construction, Watkins Construction, and he worked on the Alaskan Pipeline for ten years before retiring. Bub, as he was known, enjoyed visiting with people, especially telling stories of his time in Alaska and talking about airplanes of all kinds. Mr. McAdams was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague, having accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 84.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Marvin Hartless and wife Delores of Dew; three grandchildren, Colinda Powell and husband Quinton, Crystal Fuller, and Amanda Hurst, all of Teague; twelve great-grandchildren, Charles Coltin Peters, Cache Peters, Wyatt Fuller, Jessica Powell, Loren Powell, Katie Powell, Dillon McAdams, Hunter Hurst, Brindin Hurst, Nate Hurst, Emily Hurst, and Matty Hurst; two sisters, Carol Christall and husband Bobby, and Beth Norton; one sister-in-law, Joy McAdams; among other relatives and friends.

Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann McAdams, one daughter, Cathy Hartless; one son, Johnny McAdams; his parents, Jack and Lanie McAdams; one brother, Ronnie McAdams, and one sister, Ester Jo Downey.

The family requests that memorials be made to Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, 201 S. Eighth Ave., Teague, TX 75860.
