DONALD LYNN BROOKS

Donald Lynn Brooks, age 66, passed away May 21, 2020. He was born January 8, 1954, to Willie George Brooks and Ruby Brooks Feller.

Don is survived by his wife Glenda Brooks of Streetman; brother Kenneth Brooks and wife, Jennifer of Silver City. He is survived by children Michael Brooks and wife Melissa of Corsicana; Victoria Brooks and fiancé Timothy Saunders of Powell; Garrett Brooks and girlfriend Abby Proctor of Hobbs, New Mexico and Matthew Brooks and wife Brooke of Streetman. He is also survived by grandchildren Kailey Bonner, Kaden Brooks, Isiah Herrera, Gabriel Herrera, Vivianna Herrera, Elam Brooks, Hughston Brooks, Blayne Brooks and grandbaby number 9 due in November. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie George Brooks, mother Ruby Brooks Feller and brothers Jerry and Michael Brooks.

Don was raised in Silver City and attended school in Blooming Grove. He started working at a very early age. Anyone who knew Don, knew he was always lending a helping hand to those in need and in the community. He started his own successful masonry business and retired after 20 years. Don was also part of New Hope Baptist Church, the Cowboy Church of Corsicana and the Texas Baptist Men’s Association helping to build churches. He loved the Lord and always put his family’s needs first. Don will be dearly missed by many.

Visitation was held May 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Funeral Service was held at 1 p.m. May 27 at the Cowboy Church of Corsicana with Pastor Chris Marsh and Rev. Randall Lucas officiating. Burial followed at Younger Cemetery.
