Christopher Michael Zachry was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

On Jan. 3, 2024, he unexpectedly passed away at the age of 45. He always pursued his passions as an avid hunter, fisherman, and a true lover of the great outdoors.

He was an active member in the Fairfield community and loved watching and coaching his sons play sports. Chris worked for Tarrant Regional Water District for more than 20 years and played a significant role in the development of the Richland Chambers wetlands.

He took great pride in his work and cared deeply about water conservation and aquatic habitat. Of all of Chris’s achievements in life, he Z achry considered his family by far his greatest.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Wendy and their three sons: Michael, Will, and Matthew.

Chris was a wonderful son that is survived by his parents James and Teresa Zachry of Fairfield.

He is also survived by his sister Sarah Cannon of Dallas, grandmothers Joyce Zachry of Arlington and Patsy Langford of Hurst. Chris leaves behind a host of loving relatives and friends.

Chris worked hard to instill strong values, commitment, and work ethic in his three young sons.

Through them, Chris’s legacy will live on. A memorial service for Chris was held at Round Prairie Baptist Church (932 E. Main St.) in Fairfield on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m.

There was a public viewing prior beginning at 8:30 a.m.
