Fairfield Lake State Park closes after 50 years

One of Freestone County’s crown jewels closed to the public on Tuesday. Fairfield Lake State Park was sold to Todd Interests, who plans to develop a high-end gated community with a private golf course, according to The Dallas Morning News.
