The City of Fairfield will be presenting its Easter Eggstravaganza this weekend, albeit under different circumstances.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic forcing changes regarding close gatherings and social activities, the event will take place in the comfort of residents’ cars.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, the city will be handing out Easter celebration boxes, free prizes and money eggs to those driving through. Arrive at the City of Fairfield Park, 839 E. Commerce St., and stay in your car during the designated times. Someone will come out to assist you.

All safety precautions have been followed during the packaging of Easter surprises. The city would like to thank the River of Life Family Worship Center, Round Prairie Baptist Church, New Life Church, and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce for their help in the event.

For more information about the Easter Eggstravaganza, contact the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce office at 903-389-5792.

The Chamber also announced Wednesday that El Jimador #7 is the Chamber’s Business of the Month for April. The Mexican grill is located at 1320 US-84 in Fairfield. During this time, residents will be able to call-in an order, or have it delivered.

“Please support local as we try to get through these next couple of weeks,” the Chamber said on its Facebook page. “Our small businesses are the heart of our community.”
