Fairfield City Council’s Aug. 11 meeting broached a variety of subjects, with the item of most importance being the proposal of a property tax rate for the 2020 tax year.
The proposed rate will be $.464825 per $100 valuation, which is identical to the rate during the 2019 tax year. The adopted rate is not to exceed that amount, and council has the option of adopting a rate lower than proposed.
