Hughes qualifies for state golf tourney

Fairfield Lady Eagle Allie Hughes placed third at the regional golf tournament in Brenham this week, qualifying for the state meet.
She shot a first-round score of 85 and follows that up with a 77 for a 162, leading her team to a fifth-place finish. 
The Fairfield boys team finished 12th. 
Hughes will compete in the state tournament May 6-7 at ShadowGlen Golf Club in Austin.
