The Mexia football team is coming off a defensive donnybrook with Malakoff, the No. 2-ranked Class 3A, Division I team in the state.
This week, the Blackcats will face another 3A, Division I team when they travel to Coldspring-Oakhurst for a non-district game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
