Visitation for Samuel Allen Beene was held on Friday, July 10, 2020, from 10 a.m. until noon at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. At 12 p.m., noon, a funeral procession left from the funeral home and traveled to Union Cemetery near Freestone for a graveside service.

Mr. Beene passed away on July 6 at his residence in Wortham.

He was born in Teague on July 15, 1950, to Sam & Miriam Beene. He graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1969. Mr. Beene enjoyed roping competitions and rodeos as well as hunting and fishing and raising cattle for many years. One of his favorite things to do was have gatherings and cookouts with his children and family. He worked for Jones J. Finke and later Vulcan as a plant manager in asphalt and concrete plants for many years before retiring. Mr. Beene was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Beene; ten children, Brandi Phillips of Mexia, Billy Ray Massey of Fairfield, Marsha Beene of Dallas, Samantha Beene of Wortham, Sammie Watson & husband Matthew of Wortham, Brandy Beene Robinson & husband Paul David of Kirvin, Harley Beene of Port Arthur, Kayla Calame & husband Peyton of Wortham, Victoria Bates & husband Stephen of Tennessee, and Kody Beene of Fairfield; twenty-three grandchildren; one sister, Sue Gauntt & husband Glenn of Teague; his aunt, Viola Kindon of Mexia; numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Beene was preceded in death by his father, Sam Beene; his mother, Miriam Harrison; his step-father, Howard Harrison; one sister, Sara Palmer; two grandsons, J. W. Teer and Kenner Watson; one son-in-law, Adam Villa; one step-son, Matthew Larson; and his uncle, W. D. Kindon.
