Norma Sue Coats Fulcher was born March 2, 1931 and passed away December 8, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Teague, graduating with the Teague High School Class of 1948. She grew up at 101 South 9th Avenue at the corner of Main and 9th during a time when everyone knew your name. She briefly attended Texas Women University in Denton, Texas, before marrying James Armand (Jimmie) Fulcher. Mrs. Fulcher was a dedicated railroad wife and loving mother of two children, Sherry and Val.

She was a devoted daughter to her parents assisting in their business, Teague Jewelry Store.

Her religious faith was a large component in her life; and she was a life member of First Baptist Church of Teague.

Sue will be remembered by many in the community for her welcoming smile and loving attitude to all. She will be missed for she was loved.

Mrs. Fulcher was preceded in death by her husband James Armand Fulcher and her parents, Wallace and Zula Coats, sister, Nola Rae Coats Dobbs, and nephew, Michael Massey. She is survived by a daughter, Sharan Sue (Sherry) Fulcher Davis and husband, George, of Fairfield; a son, James Val Fulcher of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Dr. Amanda Davis Green and husband, Dr. Greg Green, of Paris, Texas; Dr. Georganna Davis Miles and husband, James Miles, of Houston, Texas; and a grandson, Christopher Tai Fulcher, of Fairfield. She is also survived by five great grandchildren including Davis and Madeline Green of Paris, Texas, and Nola, Adelaide, and Grady Miles of Houston, Texas; a brother, Wallace (Bud) Coats and wife, Billie Jean, of Peoria, Arizona; a niece, Nola Sue Dobbs Massey of Plano, Texas; nephews, Richard Coats of Midland, Texas, Ronnie Coats of Peoria, Arizona, John Coats of Phoenix, Arizona, and grandnephew Trey Stringer of Plano, Texas.

She is also survived by brother-in-law, Bobbie Fulcher and wife Bonnie, and nephew Joey Fulcher, and wife, Debbie, all of Shanks.

Other survivors include caretakers, Sandi Nitcholas, Catherine Ethridge, Susan Patton, and Rome and Luke Guillermo.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Dec. 14 at Greenwood Cemetery, Teague, Texas with Rev. Scott Matthews officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1710 North 64th Street, Waco, TX 76710 or First Baptist Church of Teague.
