Margarita Gallegos, 93, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in Fairfield. Mass of Christian Burial was held 10 a.m. August 31 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Pius T. Mathew officiating. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Salazar, Randall Whitaker, Michael Fuentes, Billy Joseph Williams, Mike Falkner and Billy Barlow.

Mrs. Gallegos was born February 20, 1926 in Mexico to parents Mercedes and Martina Vasquez Montenegro. She married Donaciano Gallegos in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Margarita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved watching her kids play sports and was their biggest fan. She was also a big Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved gardening and kept a beautiful yard. She was an amazing cook and always made sure everyone was well fed. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Juan and Jesus Gallegos.

Left to cherish her memory are 12 children, Tony Gallegos and wife Janice; Rosa Salazar and husband Eddie; John C. Gallegos and wife Hope; Justine Fuentes; Connie Whitaker and husband Randall; Amelia Williams; Albert Gallegos and wife Teresa; Joe Gallegos; Janie Falkner and husband Mike; David Gallegos and wife Carla; John M. Gallegos and wife Ronni; Lupe Barlow and husband Billy; 35 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
