A Service Honoring/ Celebrating The Homegoing of “The Legendary” Frank E. Morton, Sr. of Fairfield, Texas was held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, 220 East Main Street, Fairfield, Texas. Minister Clifford Estell McIlveen, Officiated, and Superintendent Anthony Taylor, Sr., was the Eulogist. Interment was in The Shiloh Cemetery, Oakwood, Texas. Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home 406 Monroe Street, Teague, Texas served the Morton Family.

Frank E. Morton, Sr. was born August 19, 1930 in Freestone County and was the oldest child of Wilbur and Albertha Morton. He passed away Sept. 15 in Providence Health Center, Waco, Texas among his loving family members.

He grew up in the Butler Community and graduated from Butler High School.

He was a faithful member of Saint Hill Church Of God In Christ, where he served as Deacon, Finance Committee Member, Usher, and wherever he was needed. Frank married Alice Mae Vernon on June 20, 1949.

He worked at Ivy Feed Mill for 30 plus years and also worked for Parker Auto/ Lyle Oil Company for 44 years until he retired in June of 2018.

Frank rode horses and worked cows in his younger years. He also loved helping people and giving advice.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents: Wilbur and Albertha Morton; wife: Alice Mae Morton: daughter: Sarah Morton; grandsons: Reggie Morton, Jr., Guy Nolan McShan, Wayne Morton, Jr.; sister: Audrey Bradford; brothers: Victor Earl Morton and Billy Burns; great-grandchildren: Jai Alyce and Ashton Ty,

Those who will cherish his memories are: Sons: Everett Morton, Wayne Morton and wife, Fannettie, Oakwood, Texas; Frank Morton, Jr. and wife, Muriel, Robert Morton and wife, Dorothy, Reggie Morton, Fairfield, Texas; daughters: Ruby Gatson, husband, Tyree, Jr., Cynthia Jarmon, husband, Billie, Jr., and Alma McShan, Fairfield, Texas; Brother: George Morton and wife, Jessie, Houston, Texas; sisters: Gwendolyn Ables and husband, Allen, Bonnie Grover and husband, Joe, all of Waco Texas; sister-inlaw: Mary Lampkin, Waco, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, special friends: William Coleman and Clara McIlveen and Family.
