Floris Leldon “Sonny”Schick, 84, beloved father,grandfather, and husband,passed away August 23, 2019,in Fairfield. A memorial servicewas held at 2:00 p.m.,Aug. 25, at the First UnitedMethodist Church, Fairfield.Reverend Richard Heyduckofficiated, and Nikki and MarinellHollingsworth shared aspecial music selection. A specialceremony was providedby the Masonic Lodge #103.Sonny was born December4, 1934, in Fairfield, Texas, toFloris and Josephine NewellSchick. After graduation fromFairfield High School, Sonnyenlisted in the U. S. Air Forcein 1954. He retired from theU. S. Air Force in 1974 withthe rank of Master Sergeant.Sonny graduated from YubaCollege, Yuba City Californiain 1976.Sonny returned to Fairfield,Texas in 1981. Heworked for ten years as a dispatcherfor Chemical Expressand ten years with the TexasDepartment of Corrections.Sonny loved to remain activeand worked part-time formany businesses in Fairfield inhis later years.Sonny was a member ofthe First United MethodistChurch where he ushered formany years and was presidentof the United Methodist Menfor twelve years. He was a pastMaster of the Fairfield MasonicLodge #103.Sonny was preceded indeath by his parents, FlorisSchick in 1949 and his motherJosephine Newell Schick in1968.Sonny married the lateMargaret Martha Dietzel in1959. He is survived by theirtwo sons Steven Schick andwife Tina, and Scott Schickand wife Heather.Sonny is survived by hiswife Judith Bournias Schickwhom he married in 1986. Heis survived by one stepson,James “Bud” Kitchens andwife Carolyn, three stepdaughters,Kim Mooneyham andhusband Mike, Nikki Hollingsworthand husband Brian, andSamantha Parrot.He is survived by fourteengrandchildren, U.S.Navy Chief Ryan Schick,Mark Schick, Juli Schick,Sierra Schick, Scott “Slick”Schick, Jr., Jeff Kitchens, JohnKitchens, Michael Mooneyham,Nick Mooneyham, MattMooneyham, Maci Hollingsworth,Tate Hollingsworth,Jorja Johnson, and Claire Ferguson.He is survived by fivegreat-grandchildren, BeckhamSchick, Camilla, Saul, andCora Beth Kitchens and PrestonKitchens.He is survived by his twobrothers Billie Schick andwife Carolyn and Joe Schick,a brother in-law Sam B. Bourniasand wife Billie. He is alsosurvived by his niece and numerousnephews as well as avery special cousin, Kelly JoBentley. Honorary pall bearerswere Maurice Burleson, AndyBonner, Bobby Daniel, LeslieTate, Warren Awalt.
