After a lengthy illness, Danny Trigg, age 76, of Elkhart, passed from this life on August 5 at his residence. He was born October 2, 1942, in Elkhart to Archie Lee Trigg and Adelle Bennett Trigg. He married Paula Bernard in Palestine on December 23, 1963.

Danny graduated from Elkart High School in 1961 and the University of Texas at Austin, with a BS in Civil Engineering, in 1968.

He was employed with the Dow Chemical Company for 25 years. During that time they lived in Freeport, Fairfield, and Houston, Texas.

After his retirement from Dow, he consulted for AWD Technologies. This allowed extensive travel throughout the United States and Canada.

During their time in Austin, Danny and Paula met Betty and Clarence Nash. Along with their Palestine friends, Judy and Dicky Seale, they became the Vick’s Six.

The three couples and their children traveled and vacationed together for many years. In the late 1990s, they moved home to Elkhart to enjoy their retirement. This involved tractor rides with the grandchildren, fish fries, bird-watching and genealogy.

Danny served on the board of the Slocum Water Company and the Anderson County Historical Society.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Paula Trigg and his beloved dog, Dixie; daughters, Kathy Shepherd and husband Steven and Julie Vaclavik and husband Joe; sisters, Martha Rogers and Debbie Page and husband Rodney; brother-in-law, Mike Bernard and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Riley Vaclavik, Bennett Shepherd, and Claire Shepherd. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Danny was conducted at 2 p.m. August 10 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.

Friends were cordinally invited to a visitation which began one hour prior to the memorial service. Interment will follow at a later date at Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.
