Funeral services for Jackie L. Roberts were held on May 9, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Fairfield Church of Christ. Bro. Mike Roberts officiated. Interment followed the services at George Cemetery in the Clay Hill community.

Visitation was held on May 8 at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Jackie L. Roberts was born January 16, 1940, in Longview, TX, the oldest of four children to Haskel Wade Roberts and Exie Mae Loyd Roberts. Jackie passed away on May 6 at his home in Clay Hill surrounded by his loving wife and children.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2019, and underwent surgery to remove the mass and a portion of his lung, but bravely refused further treatments, leaving his fate to his heavenly Father. He was blessed with a full year before the cancer returned and took him home.

Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved sister, Dorothy Ann Calverley; and two brothers, Phillip Roberts and Gary Roberts.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Donna Mitchell Roberts of Clay Hill; three children, Mike Roberts & wife Terri of Porter, Oklahoma, Shannon Ryan & husband Mike, and Jeff Roberts & wife Nicole all of Teague; eight grandchildren, Jessica Roberts of Porter, Oklahoma, Roman Roberts of San Antonio, Alyssa Ryan Steen & husband Will of Teague, David Ryan & wife Erika of Reno, Nevada, Blake Ryan & wife Katy of Teague, Chelsea Ryan Prado & husband Daniel of Garland, Chase Roberts of Wylie, and Heather Roberts Cornelson & husband Jesse of Princeton, TX; eleven great-grandchildren, Madilyn Steen, Mabry Steen, Michael Steen, Conor Ryan, Joshua Blake Ryan, Rylie Mushinski, Baiely Ryan, Liam Ryan, Landon Ryan, Jude Alafa, and Jameson Ryan Prado; numerous other relatives and friends.

As a young teenage boy, Jackie would walk his sister, Dorothy, to the local Church of Christ in Lubbock, TX, and has been a faithful member of the Church of Christ for over sixty-five years. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ.
